Attending a CBF meeting will be the beginning of extraordinary friendships and will lift your spirits to new heights.
We find that serving others promotes not only their inner healing, but ours as well. We welcome all breast cancer survivors to attend our monthly member meetings. Whether you have just been diagnosed, are dealing with a recurrence, or you are a long-term survivor, you will find support, laughter, and learning during each of our meetings. We encourage our members who have finished treatment to get involved with mentoring and other service projects.
Our core service is providing monthly meetings for breast cancer survivors. Our meetings are a place where survivors come together to give each other support, laugh together, learn from medical experts and each other, and just have fun. Each month the meeting focuses on a different topic or activity, so check the schedule for more details. Regardless of the meeting topic, we’ll take time to get to know each other.
In addition to our monthly meetings, Carolina Breast Friends provides the following ongoing services in the Charlotte area:
- Providing information and comfort to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
- Distributing more than 1,000 “Comfort Bags” with the help of The Breast Center Navigators of Presbyterian Hospital and Carolina Medical Center, along with various chemotherapy infusion centers in the area. Comfort Bags contain information and products that women will need to help them through their chemotherapy treatment journey.
- Distributing more than 1,800 “Inspiration Jars” into the hands of women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Navigators of Presbyterian Hospital and Carolina Medical Center help CBF distribute these jars that contain positive quotes from breast cancer survivors.
- Mentoring program that matches our “veteran” members with newly diagnosed women of similar age and diagnosis navigate the difficult path they must take.
