Important Information about
Message Board Etiquette

CBF’s mission is to help unite and support all women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Therefore, debates are highly discouraged as they work to divide us and making being on this site a generally unpleasant experience.

Discussing "hot topics" is allowed as long as the discussion stays civil and does not resort to personal attacks, name calling or insults. We understand that our members are intelligent women who want to discuss topics of great importance to them, but ask that you remember that our members come from ALL walks of life. If you feel passionate about one side of a debate you can guarantee there will be at least one person here who feels just as passionate about the other side.

If you choose to start a discussion about a controversial topic please do so very carefully. Be mindful that not everyone will agree with you, and we expect you to respect their feelings and opinions.

The number one rule here is respect. We all come from different places, different families and different situations. With a large group of women, it is inevitable that some will not get along with others. However, each member here deserves respect and disrespectful behavior to a member will result in a warning or termination from the discussion group. If disagreements do occur, we expect them to be handled privately and not in the public forums.

CBF will continually evaluate the popularity and effectiveness of each discussion topic. If you are interested in seeing a new topic added that would have broad appeal, please email us at cbf@carolinabreastfriends.org and we will make additions or replacements based on demand.
