Soon after CBF began, so did the vision of creating the Pink House, a unique respite center for breast cancer survivors. The Pink House became a passionate and altruistic cause and today the excitement to see it fulfilled continues with contagious enthusiasm.
Inspired by CBF Founder Kristy Adams-Ebel, this vision has now become the passion of more than 200 Charlotte women who are breast cancer survivors and members. CBF fundraising efforts on behalf of the Pink House are for the sole, and critically important, purpose of serving the social and emotional well-being of our breast cancer survivor sisters.
At every stage of the journey—diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and living with metastasis, remission, or the fear of recurrence, —women who have walked the same path will be available to provide support, encouragement, information, and assistance.
The Pink House will be designed and customized as a sanctuary for the hopeful transition to treatment and cure. As a one-of-a-kind, “one-stop shop,” the Pink House will serve breast cancer survivors in numerous ways:
Wellness Education: Motivational guest speakers address a host of health and wellness topics including self-esteem and self-image, pharmacology, holistic medicine, nutrition, and sexual intimacy.
Library and Computer Research Center: Print and electronic resources will be available for researching diagnoses, treatment options, alternative medicine options, and more.
Healing Garden: A sanctuary setting where gardening and nature are in full bloom. Surrounded by soothing sounds and smells this area will be designed for relaxation and meditation.

Nutrition Center: A spacious and well-stocked kitchen will provide the opportunity to hold classes on planning and preparing nutritional meals to encourage healthy eating habits.
Self-Image Services: Connections to resources and professional consultations related to products specific to breast cancer patients, including wigs, scarves and hats, cosmetics, skin care products, and prosthetic garments.
Arts & Crafts Workshop: A creative center for working on arts and crafts projects, creating keepsakes, gifts, and personal journals in a therapeutic setting.
