Stephen and Aundrea Wilson, owners of the embroidery design company Anita Goodesign, got to know Carolina Breast Friends while supporting breast cancer Survivor Katherine Weeks Mulford when she participated in our 2019 Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte for the Pink House fundraising event. That not only kicked off the Wilson's support of our mission, but soon Stephen was learning some kicks of his own as a Star the following year, where he ended the night as a crowd favorite and a Top 5 Fundraiser with almost $85,000! An impressive feat. But that's not where the story ends.
Since then, Stephen and Aundrea have personally given consistently to support the work we do. Additionally, Anita Goodesign, has sponsored events and run promotions where a portion of sales come back to CBF. The personal and corporate generosity of the Wilsons is a compliment to our organization and the work that we do.
Stephen--who started Anita Goodesign 17 years ago and who now also creates fine art from his own studio--has said that the support is a result of the many clients and sales representatives he's seen impacted by breast cancer.
Says Stephen, "No one should have to fight cancer alone. That is why Anita Goodesignag bag contributes to Carolina Breast Friends. From donations to delicate designs, we wanted to find a way to raise money for those who need it most, all while showing support for our loved ones, in hopes that one day we will find a cure. It's important for more people to be aware of breast cancer and the early symptoms, which is why we designed multiple collections that can be placed on apparel or home decor and used as a way to spread awareness throughout the community. At Anita Goodesign, we know how important it is for everyone to find support and guidance throughout this process, which is why we knew we had to be a part of it."
Clearly his good heart and good deeds keep pace with his good design.
